I was reading something by a wonderful writer I recently noticed, Lysa TerKeust, and I had an epiphany: You are who God says you are. In a prayer she wrote, I came across this awesome line:
My name is who You say I am.
Describing Myself
I could not help but think of all the different times people have called me all sorts of things and defined me in so many was. People have made assumptions about me and treated me as if those assumptions were right. I also thought of some of the situations I’ve been in that led me to , unfortunately, describe myself in ways that I would hate someone else to.
I realize that I sometimes forget – I am who God says I am. You re who God says you are. My name is who he says I am. Whenever I read the bible, there is always a testament of God’s love and that he calls me:
- Beautiful (Proverbs 3: 15-18)
- Prosperous
- Daughter of God (Romans 8:17)
- Prophetess
- Priest
- Gentle
- Kind
- Forgiving
- Someone who can do all things (Philippians 4:13)
- Bold and unafraid (Prov 28:1)
- Righteous (Isaiah 61:9)
You are who God says you are
So, here is a question for you. Who are you? I am who he says I am. You are who We should remember that, always! Regardless of what anyone and everyone has called you or is calling you, you are who God says you are. You are redeemed, free from sin and condemnation. No one has the right to drag you back to a space where you are condemned and judged.
As far as I am concerned, God has said it. I believe it. I live it!
