When was the last time you actually asked yourself this question – who am I in Christ? I listened to a powerful message, on by Minister Alex of Liberty Assembly and it made me wonder – who am I in Christ?

In my brief years on earth, the one thing I have learned is never to let others define me. The world will ALWAYS judge and are quick to assign labels.

  • It took me a while, but I learned that the world (I mean humans in general, even close friends), did not create me, does not know me, does not own me and never will. Since that is the case, there is no authority to judge me.
  • I have also learned not to allow my situation, good or bad, to be the ultimate definer of who I am. No situation is permanent, so there is no authority there to define me.
  • The longest battle I have fought is against my mind. Again, I have had to learn not to let my mind or the thoughts in my head define me. Why? My spirit should be louder than my mind.

My conclusion:

The only one that can define me is the one who created me, who knew me even before I was, who called me for a purpose, even when he said “Let there be light”. God is the only one who can define me. His words are the only guide I need to tell me who I am.

Who does God say I am?

  • I am his child, a priest, royalty, heir of his kingdom (Romans 8:17, Galatians 4:7)
  • I am beautiful and beloved (Song of Songs 4:7, 1 Thessalonians 1:4)
  • I am fearfully and wonderfully made – watch out! (Psalm 139:14)
  • I am redeemed (Romans 3:24)
  • I am not to be condemned (Roman 8:1)
  • I am blessed (Eph 1:3, 2nd Corinthians 9:8)
  • I am bold and confident (Ephesians 3:12, 2nd Corinthians 3:4, Joshua 1:9)
  • He loves me so much that he gave up a part of himself to be cursed and condemned, so that I may live (John 3:16).

From cover to cover, God’s words, through the bible, provide an exhaustive and clear guide on who I am, and I have a lot of fun finding out new revelations about myself everyday.

I know who I am in Christ. So, my question to you is this : Who are you in Christ?
