I am blessed to have parents, who have always encouraged me to aim as high as I can – even higher than I can imagine. I cannot remember a time when they made me compromise or limit my goals and dreams. In fact, they pushed me to dream bigger, aim higher and believe that the impossible can be achieved. As I have gotten older and wiser, I am grateful to my parents for teaching me that I can aim higher than the sky. This is a lesson that I believe all kids should be taught, from a very early page. This brings me to my book review.

Book Review: Dream Big, My Precious One

Dream Big, My Precious One by Jill Roman Lord is a wonderful children’s book. I love this book. It is a conversation starter for parents and their children. It is an opportunity for parents to start to encourage their children to dream big dreams and make great plans. There is no shortage of dreams that children are encouraged to have; profit, non profit, professional athletes, astronauts, etc. I like the fact that no career is considered too small. Not only does the book encourage children to dream big, it also carries the lesson that no career is greater than the other.

The illustrations by Brittany Lakin are amazing, educational, inspirational and fun. I love that children of different ages, colors, backgrounds and cultures are depicted. Every child is precious and should be taught to dream big.

Recommend or Not

I obviously recommend that parents buy this book. If a child can read the book, it is an amazing read. But I truly believe that the message of the book will have greater impact when parents/guardians read it with their children. I can already imagine parents and children curled up during reading times to go through the book. Parents should feed the positive imaginations, dreams and plans of their children, and this book is a healthy tool for doing so. If you are interested in it, get a copy here. Don’t forget to come back and tell me how you enjoyed it. .
